I made my first quilt in 1973 but didn’t really start quilting until the early 1990’s. I love appliqué and hand quilting, especially Hawaiian applique, and I also love making miniatures. I like to see how small I can make something. My favorite quilt block to make is the feathered star, I’ve made over a dozen quilts featuring the feathered star block. And yes, you can make them small.
I design a lot of my own quilts or make my own modifications to a pattern. I’ve had several quilts accepted into juried shows and have even won a couple of ribbons. Most shows I entered were at the urging of friends. Friends are wonderful, they can encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and broaden your horizons. And I’ve made the best friends through quilting!
If I had to describe my quilting style in just a few words, it would be “I don’t do easy”.
